What is chlorella?
chlorella litterally means "small green leaf" and was discovered in 1890 by the dutch microbiologist M.W. Beijerinck. It is a single celled sweet water algea that belongs to the algea family of the Eukaryoten. It does not have roots, bark or leaves like other plant species. This microscopically small plant has a vibrant green color thanks to the chemical called chlorophyl. There are many types of Chlorella, but the types which are most used in feed supplements are: Chlorella Vulgaris and the Chlorella Pyrenoidosa.
